Kolache Bread Pudding Recipe
A great way to use day old kolaches and sweet rolls!
About 16oz of kolache or sweet rolls cut into 1 to 2 inch "cubes"
3 tablespoons of butter
5 beaten eggs
1.5 cups milk
1.5 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

In a bowl beat eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until well combined.
Toss in kolache cubes and let soak for in the fridge for 45 minutes.

Grease baking dish 9 x 13 and preheat oven to 350. Add your wet bread mixture to the dish and top with dollops of butter. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.

Optional Vanilla Sauce

1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup of sugar
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

In a saucepan whisk together sugar, flour and heavy cream. Add in your butter and heat on medium until butter melts and liquid starts to boil. Whisk until thickened slightly then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
